One place I like to recommend to communication design students is béhance.  It is owned by Adobe and is in my opinion the most professional portfolio platform out there.  The great thing about béhance is that you have access to professional and student designs from around the world that you can create mood boards or collections with. Your work has the opportunity to get categorized and seen by a worldwide audience. There are job listings, live learning events, and exclusive communities PrattMWP students and Pratt Institute. Our students’ work has been recognized and promoted from this platform. Several PrattMWP students have even been offered commissions and internships from their béhance pages. What about Dribbble?

When dribbble started in 2009, the goal was to create an exclusive social network for designers that only included the best of the best, this is why dribbble members can only join by receiving a personal invite from another member. Weirdly – I just made a free account so this is worth exploring.

I do not personally have any experience with Wix but I have been using WordPress for all my websites. Regardless of any software or app they programs and capabilities upgrade and improve. Both platforms are widely used and relatively easy to use.

Just be aware that time and resources are the key considerations here:

In conclusion, if you are a one person team or don’t have dedicated technical resources to help you build, maintain or troubleshoot a website, we recommend using Wix.
